I am a social innovator based in South Africa. My work experience has been as a data product manager and data scientist at Barclays Africa Group Limited, a consultant at Engineers Without Borders South Africa, and as an engineer at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. I completed an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate honours degree in Technology Management at the University of Pretoria.
My extracurricular activities are: the development of a social impact virtual reality film, business development for an augmented reality start-up, team lead of an impact investing team for MIINT, data science for the non-profit investigating failure of start-ups known as The Failure Institute and the coordination of CRNCH, an impact consultancy.
Some career highlights include being nominated for a team CXA 2017 Customer Experience award for work carried out in the Omnichannel project at Barclays Africa Group Limited, a 2nd place team win at the ABInBev Harm Reduction Hackathon, a 1st place team win in the Virtual Reality category at Digital Lab Africa, and selection as one of South Africa’s Brightest Young Minds in 2014.
